Part of the Dickens' Village Series from Department 56. Victorian England at the time of Charles Dickens was a center of culture for the world, where many traditions we celebrate today took shape.
Dickens' 25th Anniversary.
In 1984, Neilan Lund presented the initial drawings for the Dickens' Village Series to Department 56. To commemorate 25 years of Dickens' Village the artists at Department 56 designed a fresh new series of buildings based on the original 1984 introductions. These special editions are destined to become classics.
This the first piece in a continuing series. Features of this new Crowntree Inn reflect the original building introduced in 1984; a similar color palette, slate roof, gable with 3 windows, and diamond leaded-glass windows on the upper level. A special bottom stamp has been added to commemorate the 25th Anniversary of The Dickens' Village Series.
