Description
Walt Disney Archives Anna Maquette Figurine #4051308 numbered limited edition figurine of 5,000.
This skillfully crafted, hand-painted sculpture was developed through the shared efforts of The Walt Disney Archives and Enesco, LLC. Originating from an unpainted animation maquette in the company's collection, the production molds for this piece are made from a digital three-dimensional printout. The paint master for this edition was supervised by Frozen art director, Michael Giaimo. To distinguish it from the original, the final production size varies approximately 10 percent. This piece is one of a sequentially numbered, randomly distributed, limited edition of 5,000. The original Anna maquette was created based on the character design of the Frozen character artists at Walt Disney Animation Studios. The original work did not include her signature cape. For this maquette reproduction a sculpted cape was added under the close supervision of Frozen art director, Michael Giaimo to complete Anna's travel outfit. The Walt Disney Archives and The Walt Disney Animation Research Library maintain and preserve original maquettes in their collections to be used as three-dimensional character reference for such diverse projects as theme park attractions, books, story and product development. "The exuberant and playful characteristics of Anna suggested a winter outfit of bold proportions. It was imperative that her costume be as iconic as the character herself. her rich saturated cobalt blue dress, black bodice and striking magenta cape underscores not only the character's strength, but also stands in beautiful counterpoint against the snowscape environments of Frozen." - Michael Giaimo, art director Frozen.
