Part of the Dickens' Village Series from Department 56. Victorian England at the time of Charles Dickens was a center of culture for the world, where many traditions we celebrate today took shape.
Come One, Come All! To the most wonderful winter festival of all! The Frost Fair was carefully researched by the Department 56 artists and development teams. Their interpretation celebrates a revival of the fair in the 19th century that has roots from mid-evil times. The fair took place on the edge of the Thames River, with winter activities enjoyed on the frozen river surface.
Those attending the fair have the perfect central location - the Frost Fair Pavilion. Stop by for information, tickets, special announcements. Enjoy treats, meet special guests, mingle with neighbors, and warm up - but not for long, there's too much fun to have outside!
This is the inaugural piece in the collection which will continue with future introductions to fill the story. Look for more excitement to come!
