Part of the Music in the City Series. Inspired by The Mocambo, a night club that opened in 1941 on Sunset Strip in Los Angeles. It was an instant success, where the Hollywood famous danced till dawn. Anyone who was anyone could be found there, from Clark Gabel and Humphrey Bogart to Judy Garland and Elizabeth Taylor. Known for its elaborate Latin American decor which included exotic birds in glass cages. Those who made career debuts included Frank Sinatra and Ella Fitzgerald.
