Welcome to Christmas in the City from Department 56 - with all the hustle and bustle, this series captures the elegance and excitement of the city.
Part of the Art and Architecture sub-series.
Considered one of the best examples of his Prairie Style architecture, Frank Lloyd Wright's Robie House features cantilevered roof eaves, art-glass windows in long horizontal bands, as well as the coloration of the brick and mortar to emphasize the horizontal lines - the chief attribute of prairie style. The Robie House was built in the Hyde Park neighborhood near Chicago. Completed in 1910, Robie House was designated a National Historic Landmark in 1967.
